Kit Wijkowski has a Bachelors of Fine Art in 3D Studio and has been a Ceramic Artist for 15 years participating in many shows and festivals around the country. As the Clay Arts Coordinator of the Gunnison Arts Center, she hopes to bring ceramic arts to more of her community. In her personal work, Kit is focusing on functional ceramics and Mixed Media sculpture.
Paige Stewart Art
Paige Stewart is a contemporary, ceramic sculpture artist whose work is strongly influenced by her background in Spiritual Psychology. Each of her bodies of work reflects some part of her learned process of healing and integration. Through sculptural abstraction, primitive modern motifs, and openings she allows people to derive their own meaning and have an opportunity for reflection and healing. She uses clay for its flexibility and fluidity to communicate these ideas.
Terraforma Studio
Jeff Erwin is a former art professor, mixed media artist, and master potter. His signature pottery line titled "Impermascapes" are unique ceramic creations that artfully capture the transient textures of riverbeds from the, Slate, Gunnison, Arkansas, Colorado, Animas, and Rio Grande Rivers. Each piece is crafted through a poetic process: plaster castings are taken from the river's edge during low water, preserving and documenting the intricate textures shaped by the veins of our ecosystems. This approach celebrates and honors the ephemeral nature of water, reminding us of its vital role in nourishing our bodies and sustaining our homelands.
Wonderland ClayWorks
I am the owner and artist at Wonderland Clayworks. My ceramic work and teaching practice explores and ignites the imagination. With playful exploration of form and surface, I create work that draws the user down the rabbit hole and into a world of curiosity and wonderment. My whimsical tableware and ceramic sculpture are playful objects to be enjoyed in daily life. Over the years, I have exhibited at Art Festivals and Galleries in the US and taught and lectured at ceramic facilities in the Denver Metro Area and the Gunnison Valley. Currently, I teach at the Crested Butte Clay Studio, Wonderland Clayworks and the Gunnison Art Center. Working and connecting with the community through creating in clay is my passion. I’m so fortunate to be able to create objects of joy and to share my love of clay through teaching and helping navigate students through their own clay practice.
